Anais Mitchell (modern folk)

$22 advance | $25 door

Anais Mitchell is a singer-songwriter and musician who has been heavily influenced by the confessional alternative folk stylings of Ani DiFranco. Anaïs Mitchell began writing songs when she was 17 and has been described as the "queen of modern folk music." Her album entitled Hadestown featured appearances from Greg Brown, DiFranco and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon.  And it might come as a surprise when, over the course of eleven songs, she seems to be channeling spirits from the Old Testament to modern America — but mostly, well, from the Y chromosome.
