For nearly five decades, the Chocolate Church Arts Center has stood as a beacon of creativity and unity in Bath, Maine. Our historic venue has been the heart of countless memories—where children discover their artistic talents, neighbors gather for uplifting performances, and our community finds solace and celebration. We offer year-round, unforgettable, music, theatre, and dance events, and provide a hands-on art studio that is open to the public for free. There is a simple “why” to everything we are doing right now at the Chocolate Church Arts Center: community togetherness. Communal experiences, grounded in imagination, story, laughter, grief, and joy, bring us back together. When we sit together for a show, when we parade together with lanterns, when we sing together at Sing It’s Christmas and eat latkes at Hanukkah Mexicana, when we are creative together in the Art Lab, when we experience a bit of awe, our social fabric is mended.
