Accomplished artists Gable and Allaire combine talent for a unique art exhibit at the Chocolate Church Art Gallery.
The Chocolate Church Arts Gallery announces an explosion of visual styles when the exhibit entitled “New Perspectives” featuring the work of John Gable and Anne Gable Allaire continues through September 19.
John Gable, a Contemporary Realist painter and muralist, is known for his vivid use of color, light and detail. Anne Gable Allaire, an accomplished Pastel artist, uses a technique that is both realistic and impressionistic. When combined, the work from these two artists offers a visual treat.
Gable works primarily in acrylic on canvas and is known for his extraordinary breadth of subject matter. He fluidly adapts style to create the perspectives from painterly realism to a precise graphic or period style. His subjects range from sailing and boating to Boston Classical Orchestra to the History of Duck Hunting on the Chesapeake. Listed in Who’s Who in American Art, Gable’s murals and painting can be found in museums, universities, and corporations, as well as private collections throughout the country.
Allaire defines fine detail with many delicate strokes. She is a Signature member and Master Pastelist in the Pastel Society of America and a Signature member of the Pastel Painters of Maine. Her palette is bright and she blends her lively colors with an exuberant mastery.
According to Allaire, “Pastel is the oldest, most durable and direct medium and I love its versatility. It can be used with much spontaneity or with attention to precise detail. For me, using pastel is like drawing and painting at the same time.”
The New Perspectives show featuring John Gable and Anne Gable Allaire concludes September 19 at the Chocolate Church Arts Gallery, located at 804 Washington Street in downtown Bath. Gallery hours are 10-4pm on Tuesday and Wednesday; Thursday from noon-6pm and Friday, noon-4pm. Gallery is open until 7pm on August 19 and September 16
