The Chocolate Church Arts Center announces two new fundraisers to help continue the ongoing renovation phases. The first was a lovely evening called Once Upon A Jewel, which took place Friday October 23 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the former Sewall House on Washington Street in Bath. In collaboration with Springer’s Jewelers, this fundraiser featured displays of unusual and unique pieces from Springer’s, a very special raffle, and was a unique way to help the Chocolate Church. Patrons brought in the jewelry they didn’t wear, didn’t need or didn’t know what to do with. While enjoying a special evening, Springer’s evaluated pieces and offered cash for them. The first $100 was donated to CCAC – the rest was theirs to keep - and those who were feeling generous donated the entire amount. All proceeds of the evening are going towards the new gallery space being recreated in the Annex building. It was tax-deductible and a sparkling way to make room for new jewels and fairytales. Cocktails and hor d’oeuvres were served, and there was fabulous piano music by local Jesse Feinberg. It was a very successful evening and is destined to become an annual event.
The second fundraiser is a performance by a terrific local band, The New Rangers, on Saturday November 21st at 7:30 p.m. The New Rangers are an acoustic off-shoot of The Round Pond Rangers, who disbanded in 2006. Jim Nelson, John Reny and John Riley will rock the Chocolate Church as they play to help raise money for the GIMME SHELTER fundraising series, intended to put a new insulated roof on the performance building. Tickets are all $15 and tax-deductible.
Make plans now to enjoy these two special evenings and help keep the Chocolate Church Arts Center bright and thriving!
